I've just taken over the financial tracking reins in our family-- pay all the bills, on time preferrably....it is amazing how much money one family can spend: first mortgage, second mortgage, groceries, gas, household items, food.
Spend wisely young grasshopper--- I just gave my resignation notice for 2006, therefore, from now on I shall be called "thrifty."

Help

Congrats and good luck with the new responsibility.
You may want to think of this as opportunity to immerse yourself in some of the great financial wisdom that’s out there. A couple of suggestions:
The Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey (I’ve heard his book Financial Peace is also excellent)
The Automatic Millionaire by David Bach (Likewise he has some other good stuff as well!)
the first step to it all is knowing where it goes….
yought check out kiosaki and the cashflow game as well….good stuff.
Thanks to all– looks like I am the one in need of problem solving this time– however, I am confident that money issue is looking better for us already (and am looking into things I can do from home)…..”the first step is admitting you have a problem”…..I think that’s from the AA meetings, but definitely applies to many different things!
